"Slipping Through"
Balanced Steel sculpture
No welds anywhere, it is balanced and pinned together by the leverage of it's own weight.
The tail is a chainsaw blade laid backwards against it's grain...forming a perfect arch, but a slight wind could have blow it over. It's design represents the rusty and precariously balanced industrial monster letting the earth slip through it's fingers. I was prepared to allow it to fall and simply lay where it might, but it proved remarkably stable (I only had to reposition the tail once during the week long show).
